A terrific way to spend a fall day — a visit to a family owned winery and restaurant! Our itinerary will be: a wine tasting, a sumptuous six course dinner (food representative of the Emiglia Romagna region of Italy), wine with your meal, performances by famous accordionists, bus transportation. There will be time to stroll through the lovely wine vineyards. Wine will be available for purchase.
WE CAN ONLY RUN THIS TRIP IF WE HAVE 45 PEOPLE. TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW! Please notify us by July 31 if you will be joining us on this trip.

Bocce may not be for everyone, but good food, friendly people and enjoying the ambiance at Ed Zazzali’s Diamond Spring Restaurant and Pool is plenty of fun for all. Wednesday, August 20 — Children’s “End of Summer Gelato Party” at Palazzone, 190 Rte. 23, Wayne. Watch a demonstration of how gelato is made. If you have never been to Palazzone’s, you are in for a treat — the ambience and the authenticity reminds you of a gelaterria in Italy. Plenty of flavors to choose from — nocciola, baci, fragola and many more! Reserve early by calling The Center (973.571.1995). Reservations are required; the cafe can accomodate only a certain number of people. Join us at 6:00 PM. Payment is the responsibility of each attendee.

Tour of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 448 East 116 Street, NY 10029 (East Harlem), followed by a meal in the church hall. The church and neighborhood was predominantly Italian years ago. It was built in 1884. Former parishioners still return for the “Dance of the Giglio,” which means lily in Italian. A traditional festival, in which a decorated two story statue and tower is hoisted and carried through the streets; and the tradition still continues. Transportation is on your own.
