Born in Trieste, Italy, Margaret Brisco graduated from Facolta di Medicina e Chirurgia in Padova, Italy. She practiced obstetrics and gynecology in northern New Jersey for 35 years and was a pioneer at a time when few women became physicians and even fewer undertook specialties involving surgery. Since her retirement from medicine, she has devoted herself to writing.
She has published Childbirth: A Unique Experience, Metamorphoses: The Stories She May Tell, and Women in Transition: I am a Wanderer. Her stories have been publised in the Journals of the LLL Institute of Caldwell College, Caldwell, NJ and the Elderhostel Institute. She is a member of the NJ artist group, “The Write Group.” She has residences both in the U.S. and Italy, and is bi-lingual.
