Patricia Brady-Danzig
Patricia Brady was chosen as one of the “Top 100 Irish Americans of 2000” by Irish America Magazine. New Jersey’s Star Ledger selected her as “Woman of Distinction” in 1999.
The New York Times called Patricia, “an earnest and knowledgeable musician whose voice soared with sweetness and purity of sound.” Cinco Dias newspaper, Madrid wrote, “She fulfilled the intentions of varied styles; excellent technique; intelligent musicality; beautiful coloring; perfect diction.” In Sicily, she was hailed by La Sicilia newspaper as, providing a “…great musical experience of baroque and contemporary music.”
Patricia Brady, “The Irish Nightingale” is the daughter of Joseph Michael Brady of Scariff, County Clare and Elizabeth D’Arcy Brady (a descendent of the poet, Edmund Burke) of Maryborough, County Laos. Her extraordinary musical gifts were discovered early by her Irish parents who said she could sing a complete melody by age 2!
Patricia’s devotion to music led her to form PBD Associates, Inc., (Professional Bi-Cultural Development, Inc.) her non-profit foundation dedicated to helping musicians worldwide. Most recent PBD Associates, Inc. production was “Patricia Brady-Danzig and the Three Young Tenors” held in April, 2011 at her alma mater, a reprisal of her 2006 Carnegie Hall concert of the same name, featuring three young musicians who benefited from Patricia’s foundation. PBD Associates, Inc. also produces “Ireland on Parade”, a traditional Irish Music & Dance extravaganza every year in a different location using local talent.
Previous productions of “Ireland on Parade” have been held in Dublin, Ireland at the National Concert Hall; Chicago, Illinois; College Park, Maryland; Mamaroneck, Westchester County, New York; Dayton, Ohio; Brockton, Massachusetts; Fairfield, Connecticut; Savannah, Georgia and in 2011, in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
A beloved and devoted teacher, Patricia is in high demand to teach Master Classes worldwide. She has taught at Northland Pioneer College, Snowflake, AZ; Smith College, Northampton, MA; New Jersey City University; Jersey City, NJ; Florida International University, Miami, FL; Duke University, NC; Music Academy, Bucharest, Romania; Trinity College, University College, Dublin; Sinclair College, Dayton, OH; Columbia University, NY; University of Nuevo Leon, Monterrey, Mexico; Pompeii, Italy; Germany and Switzerland, among others.
Patricia presented master classes in the Transylvania City of Bistrita in January 2011 and performed a New Year’s Special Concert with the historic Cluj Philharmonic Orchestra.
Patricia Brady-Danzig has six CDs: Sharing, classical songs; Irish Jubilee, traditional Irish songs; A Woman’s Life in Love, favorite love songs; Christmas Magic; From Romania With Love, Romanian folk songs sung in Romanian and English; and, Ojos Verdes (Green Eyes), a collection of traditional Latin Dance Rhythms and Song Classics sung in Spanish and English. In 2011, Patricia will produce her latest disc, Believe, a collection of religious music from around the world, and her religious renditions sung with the Cluj Philharmonic Orchestra.
Patricia Brady has performed for audiences worldwide, singing in Irish Festivals from Newport, Rhode Island; Savannah, Georgia; to Feile na Bealtaine, County Kerry; Rose of Tralee Festival, Tralee; Dingle, County Kerry and Beara, West Cork. She has performed opera worldwide from Carnegie Hall, New York to Bucharest, Romania, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Canada and Mexico. Her repertoire includes classics, ethnic and lighter favorites.
Patricia has appeared frequently on television and radio worldwide, including TodayFM, Dublin, Ireland; Cesar Lantigua, WWRV, Radio Vision, NJ; Adrian Flannelly Program, NY; Good Day New York, Fox TV; the NBC Morning Show, Des Moines, Iowa; ABC-TV, West Des Moines; and Channel 12 TV, Good Morning Show, Edison, NJ.
